Angelito Erasquin

angelitoIn the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Angelito Erasquin was killed in-the-line-of-duty after being stabbed to death while working at Bay Cities Auto Auction in Hayward, California.  In response, the CALSAGA Charitable Foundation sent flowers to the viewing services on behalf of our organization and industry, and made a $500 contribution to a fund established in his name.

Mr. Erasquin was described by his friends and colleagues as a caring man who loved his job as a security officer.  Mr. Erasquin was a grandfather of eleven and was set to retire in May 2010.

Additionally, James Wightman, a truck driver from Oregon was also stabbed to death, possibly because he was witness of the attack on Mr. Erasquin.  Karl George Sanft is being held by the Hayward police in connection to both murders.
