CALSAGA news

Security officer of Wackenhut Corporation slain in Los Angeles

On Thursday, August 28, Isais Quinones was brutally shot and killed while working his normal shift in the parking lot of a Bank of America branch in a suburb of Los Angeles.  An employee of Wackenhut Corporation since 2001, Quinones was well-liked by his peers, honored the Wackenhut uniform and performed his duties with pride and professionalism.

On behalf of CALSAGA and its members, we express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Isais Quinones and the Wackenhut family.  CALSAGA stands by its officers and their families in times of tragedy, and while we are saddened by the loss, our industry and association is committed to bringing those involved to justice, in what was such a callous act of violence.

In response to this tragic event, the CALSAGA Security Officer Memorial Fund (SOMF) has pledged $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved.  As many of you know, the SOMF was established in 2005 to provide assistance to security officers and their families when tragedy strikes and they are in need.

For CALSAGA members wishing to make a contribution, a fund in Quinones’ name is currently being set up. We’ll pass that information along to members as soon as it becomes available.

Additionally, below is information for members in the Southern California area wishing to attend his services:
