CALSAGA lobbyist Chris Kahn appointed as Governor Schwarzenegger's new legislative secretary

On December 13, CALSAGA lobbyist Chris Kahn, formerly with Sloat, Higgins, Jensen and Associates was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as his new legislative secretary.  We congratulate him as he embarks on this new and exciting opportunity.

CALSAGA will certainly miss his day-to-day leadership on behalf of our issues in the capitol, but we take comfort in knowing that he will remain a strong voice for our industry in his new role as legislative secretary.

As legislative secretary, Kahn will act as the Governor's top liaison to lawmakers, assisting in all facets of the legislative process including, hammering out compromises on legislation and rounding up key votes when it comes to the State budget and contentious bills.

Kahn has previously served in a similar role, as he was a legislative aide for Governor Pete Wilson in 1995-1998.  Additionally, Kahn has served several former GOP lawmakers and he was the chief of staff for the California State Republican Caucus following his stint in the Wilson administration.

Once again, we congratulate Mr. Kahn on his new position and we look forward to working with him in the near future.
