Statement from CALSAGA President Elect Roy Rahn

With 2009 quickly approaching I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks for your support in electing the new officers and Board of Directors in Santa Rosa. It was energizing to see the number of votes that were cast to ensure that the membership’s voice was heard.

Equally energizing was the number of you who approached me in Santa Rosa to volunteer your service and time to CALSAGA. I will make every effort to ensure that you are appointed to a committee or other position in 2009.

Next year will be a challenging time for all of us considering the many issues facing us individually and as an industry. Two of these stand out in my mind. The economy will force us to operate more efficiently and effectively and the meal and rest break issue will continue to be of concern until we forge a resolution. Rest assured that CALSAGA will search for ways to help in both these areas, especially the meal and rest break issue, where we will tirelessly strive to achieve legislative relief.

On behalf of the Board of Directors I again want to thank you for your support and pledge to you our support to the membership in the coming year. And finally, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
