Security Officer Memorial Foundation- Memorial Webpage In 2009, the private security industry faced a particularly tragic year on the national and local front. From the nationally televised violent shooting of Stephen Tyrone Jones at the National Holocaust Museum last June and Stanley Cooper at the Las Vegas Federal Courthouse just this month, to the more local murders of Leroy Fisher in Sacramento and Bounhom Manyvong in Oakland, the sense of tragedy has certainly been tangible throughout our industry. The CALSAGA Security Officer Memorial Fund (SOMF) is a charitable organization intended to provide assistance to families and officers when tragedy strikes. Helping to defray medical costs and working with the families of fallen officers to provide for funeral arrangements, the SOMF is primarily funded through private donations from CALSAGA members, as well as the annual SOMF Cocktail Reception and Fundraiser (held in conjunction with the CALSAGA Annual Conference). CALSAGA is honored to announce the latest addition to the Memorial Fund’s activities - the CALSAGA Security Officer Memorial Fund Tribute Page. This webpage is designed to honor the lives of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice as well as to provide the public with up to date information about memorial arrangements and donation opportunities, when available. It is our hope that the memories of our fallen friends, family, colleagues, employees and employers will serve as a constant reminder to the perils of our industry and the sacrifice those who have fallen in the line of duty have made.
