Each New Year brings an opportunity to reflect and plan and refocus, whether in your personal life or business. Similar for a membership association, the New Year means taking stock and planning ahead.
At the first CALSAGA Board of Directors meeting on January 8, the Board adopted a comprehensive strategic plan for 2009 focused on moving our organization and industry forward.

| Welcome Connie Trujillo |
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff and membership, CALSAGA would like to welcome Connie Trujillo, new Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).
Ms. Trujillo replaces former Deputy Chief Rick Fong, and will manage the agency’s consumer protection, licensing and enforcement regulation for the private security industry, among the other industries BSIS regulates.

| CALSAGA looks at Mall Cop as an opportunity |
In case you haven’t heard, the movie Mall Cop is number one in box office for two straight weekends. In this comedy, actor Kevin James plays a clichéd mall security guard named Paul Blart, who despite some foibles, becomes a hero after saving the mall from a gang of organized criminals who put the mall under siege.

| Where should the 2010 Annual Conference be held? |
As most of you know CALSAGA has chosen Agua Caliente Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage as the location for the 2009 conference on November 4-6.
The Annual Conference Committee is currently in the process of choosing the 2010 location, but would like your opinion on where the conference should be held.
