Association Manager Report -- February

2010 is certainly off to a busy start for CALSAGA, and I wanted to take a moment to update you on the many activities and programs your Association is undertaking on behalf of our members and the industry.

You don’t need to be told that labor and employment law is a constant headache for our members, and the threat of a class action lawsuit hangs over the head of any of our members.  To help ensure you have the latest information on how to protect yourself, CALSAGA is holding two labor and employment seminars – March 16 in Sacramento and March 18 in Pasadena.

CALSAGA labor and employment seminars coming in March

CALSAGA has enjoyed great success in professionalizing California’s private security industry, and part of that success is connected to educational seminars we’ve hosted throughout the years.  We are proud to continue this effort this year with a new commitment to our quarterly seminar series.

The first installment of the series in 2010 will focus on labor and employment issues. Called, “New Challenges Facing California Employers,” it will feature guest speakers Erika Frank, General Counsel with the California Chamber of Commerce, and Barry Bradley, Partner with Bradley & Gmelich. Both will discuss the latest news, legal cases, and ways that employers in California can protect themselves from class action employment lawsuits and other hazards.
