CALSAGA staff was thrilled to attend the inaugural ceremonies earlier this month for Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado, as he became the 47th person to serve the office in the state of California. A very good friend of the industry, Lt. Governor Maldonado gave a poignant speech, addressing the need for the state to reach out to small businesses and re-direct resources towards creating a foundation that supports vital industries and infrastructure that our state so greatly relies on. While he took office immediately after confirmation, Maldonado will only be guaranteed to serve in the position for the rest of this year. He will face a contested primary election on June 8th, and if successful, a general election in the fall. In honor of Maldonado’s continued advocacy on behalf of the private security industry in California, and in support of his impending campaign, CALSAGA hosted a dinner for the Lieutenant Governor.
The event took place just one night after his inaugural ceremonies and was a testament to the support the Lt. Governor has offered to our industry over the years, as he joined CALSAGA Board Members and staff for what was undoubtabely a very thrilling and important time in his career. The evening allowed Board Members to mingle with the Lieutenant Governor, getting to know more about him and his future political aspirations for the state. There were plenty of shameless photo opportunities, as seen below, and talk about what the future holds for the California private security industry. The events of the week were a wonderful opportunity for CALSAGA to show support for a tried and true enthusiast of our industry. Please stay tuned to learn more about how you can help Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado win a full four-year term in the office.
