| Association Manager Report -- June |
I can hardly believe it, but we are already half way through 2010! As we approach the second half of the year with as much vigor and tenacity as the first six months, I am proud to say that we have already accomplished many of the goals we established for CALSAGA at the beginning of the year. We’ve had successful seminars and regional events. Our sponsored legislation, AB 2128 by Assemblymember Gaines (R-Roseville), is moving nicely through the legislature, and we saw a true industry friend in former State Senator Abel Maldonado elevated to the job of Lieutenant Governor, and with our help, successfully pass his first step in retaining that position for a full term.

| Speakers’ Bureau- Sacramento Chapter, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Meeting |
In an effort to continue to reach out into the community and promote the goals of our association, the CALSAGA Speakers’ Bureau gave a presentation to the Sacramento Chapter of ASIS on June 9, 2010. William Hodges, deputy association manager, and Danielle Vaticano, membership services director, were on hand to answer industry and association questions and meet with the nearly 30 ASIS members in attendance.

With the summer months upon us, the primary election in the rearview mirror, and the general election just around the corner, the legislative process is heating up around the Capitol. As previously mentioned, CALSAGA’s sponsored legislation, AB 2128 by Assemblyman Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) passed out of the Assembly on May 6, 2010, and is currently scheduled to be heard in the Senate Business and Professions Committee on June 28, 2010.
