With the summer months upon us, it seems fitting that things are heating up around the CALSAGA office! From hiring a new Membership Coordinator and launching our 2010 CALSAGA Annual Conference, to continuing our efforts on behalf of the industry throughout the halls of the Capitol, July has been a very busy month. You can always be assured that the CALSAGA team is constantly looking for ways to ensure the association is doing all it can to fit the needs and requirements of our membership. As a way to better serve these requests, we are happy to announce that Kate Wallace has joined the CALSAGA staff as our new Membership Coordinator. Kate will work to retain and grow membership by listening to member suggestions to help grow the value of membership in CALSAGA, as well as educating non-member companies about the value of the association and the work that CALSAGA does throughout the state. You can contact Kate directly with any questions, or just to welcome her, at kwallace@calsaga.org. I am thrilled to announce the launch of the 2010 Annual Conference! As our industry continues to recover from what we all know have been tough economic times, we can look to rebuilding and new growth . This year’s conference, “New Challenges…New Opportunities”, will offer attendees new ideas on how to continue to grow your business in this economy all while keeping it, and yourself, safe from legal oversights and common mistakes. Check out the official event website at www.calsaga.org/2010AnnualConference.html, and be sure to look for the official brochure in the mail with a list of speakers, events and a registration form. We look forward to seeing you there! I am happy to report that CALSAGA-sponsored AB 2128 by Assemblyman Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) is continuing to make its way through the legislative process. We anticipate that the bill will make it to the Senate Floor by mid-August and if passed, will go to the Governor’s desk for his signature or veto. You can find more information on this bill in this month’s edition of Under the Dome, as well as CALSAGA’s opposition to AB 2626 by Assemblyman Dave Jones (D-Sacramento). I hope that you have all had an exciting summer so far, finding some time in your very busy schedules to take a much needed break! Best Regards,
Jeff Flint Association Manager |
