In case you missed it over the long weekend, the Riverside Press Enterprise ran a comprehensive story on the low rate of proprietary security officers complying with state licensing requirements.

The article did a good job of drawing the distinction between the training and licensing standard that contract security officers comply with, while exposing the lack of a similar requirement for proprietary security officers who also serve in protecting consumers and the public.
