CALSAGA sends opposition letter on Assembly Bill AB 350 On June 15, CALSAGA sent an opposition letter to Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Santa Ana) on his sponsored bill, AB 350. AB 350 would expand the current Displaced Janitorial Act, to include licensed security officers covered by a collective bargaining agreement, among other service industries, and extend the term of mandatory employment from 60 to 90 days, and rename the Act the Displaced Property Service Employee Opportunity Act. To view CALSAGA’s opposition letter, click here. AB 350 is currently in the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee awaiting hearing on Wednesday, June 29. Discussions with Assemblyman Solorio on AB 350 are still ongoing, so without going beyond what is detailed in our opposition letter, members should know that CALSAGA is working aggressively to kill the bill and will be attending the hearing on June 29 to testify in opposition. We will disseminate any new developments as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 930-0552 or via email at whodges@calsaga.org.
