Assemblyman Ted Gaines wins Senate District 1 special election

We are thrilled to announce that Assemblyman Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) won the Senate District 1 special election last night over Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley (D). The special election was held to fill the seat formerly occupied by Senator Dave Cox (R-Fair Oaks) who passed away last summer.

Assemblyman Gaines has been a long-time supporter of CALSAGA and our industry – including supporting several key pieces of legislation aimed at improving training and background screening standards and the overall professionalism of our industry – and authoring our bill last year, AB 2128. Equally important, Assemblyman Gaines has been solid on business issues, an advocate for creating jobs and has firmly opposed efforts to raise taxes.

Assemblyman Gaines will be sworn in as Senator tomorrow morning at the State Capitol. CALSAGA will be there in attendance to congratulate him and thank him for his support.
