CALSAGA partnering with California Chamber of Commerce on general business issues The California Chamber of Commerce released their 2010 Business Issues and Legislative Guide earlier this week, which was developed by their Board of Directors in December to help California begin “Leading the Nation Out of the Recession.” You can review the guide in its entirety by clicking here. On key issues such as workers’ compensation, overtime, meal period, heath care and climate change, among others, CALSAGA will work with the California Chamber of Commerce to press lawmakers to consider the economy and jobs before taking action on any of these issues. Additionally, CALSAGA and our industry will continue to be represented on the California Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. 2010 will inevitability be an interesting year politically in Sacramento – new Assembly Speaker, general election in November and $28 billion dollar state budget deficit. Consequently, we will work closely with the Chamber to monitor the key issues mentioned above and will engage CALSAGA members as needed. If you have any questions, please contact Deputy Association Director William Hodges at (916) 930-0552 or via email at whodges@calsaga.org.
